Use the infinibook app to set up and manage your infinibook. From making your own recordings and inviting friends and family to join your infinibook household, to browsing and adding new booklets, everything begins here.

In this guide, you’ll find explanations of the main app features, so you can confidently navigate and make the most of the infinibook experience.

Settings tab

In the top-right corner of the screen, open the Setting tab. Here you’ll find the following sections:

- My profile:

View and edit your user account details. We strongly recommend logging in whenever you use the app. This ensures your recordings are safely backed up and your infinibook stays in sync with your account.

- Household:

Manage your Household and its members. A Household allows multiple people—family or friends—to share and contribute recordings to your infinibook.

Books tab

In the Books tab, you can find two sections:

Library: Displays all booklets you have purchased and added to your library.

Recommended: Shows all booklets available for your infinibook that your child might enjoy.

Feel free to explore any booklet—whether it’s in your Library or the Recommended section. By tapping a booklet, you can view its main features or record your own narrations.

Readers tab

In the Readers tab, you can easily manage any infinibook readers you connected to the infinibook app. Once you connect to a reader, you can:

View Activity & Battery: Check the reader’s current status and battery level.

Download Content & Updates: Ensure your reader has the latest content and software to provide the best experience.

To add a new booklet to your infinibook, follow these steps:

Step 1
Place the booklet into your infinibook. An audio message will play, informing you that the booklet is not recognized.

Step 2
Connect to your infinibook by opening the Readers tab and placing your phone on the back of the infinibook.

Step 3
- Syncing process may take a few minutes.
- For booklets with the latest content, you may be asked to download a software update before syncing. In this case, follow the prompt or update firmware manually.

To download and install a new software update, follow these steps:

1. Connect to your infinibook.

2. In the Readers tab, select Download software update.

3. Install the update when prompted.

- If new updates are available, choose Install to proceed.

4. Wait until the update process is complete. This may take a few minutes.

- After the loading screen, you will be notified that you have the latest firmware version.

- Wait until you hear “update complete” audio on your infinibook indicating it’s ready for use.

Congratulations! Your infinibook is now up to date.

Connecting to your infinibook reader adds it to your Household, lets you view its activity and battery level, as well as download new content.

Steps to connect:

1. Turn on the Bluetooth on your mobile device.

2. Open the app and go to the Readers tab.

3. Place your mobile device inside the frame on the back cover of your infinibook. When placed correctly, the Portal will glow in flickering violet-blue colors, indicating the infinibook is connecting to the app.

If you’re having trouble connecting:

- ensure the Bluetooth is on,

- open the app settings on your mobile device and check permissions granted to the infinibook app. Ensure the app has permissions to use Bluetooth and access your location,

- if you do not see flickering violet-blue lights after placing a phone on the back of your reader, just long press the volume button instead.

Sync with the app to add new recordings and booklets to your infinibook:

1. Connect to your infinibook.

- Syncing process may take a few minutes.

- Pro tip: if Switch to WiFi Direct appears at the bottom of the screen, tap it for faster syncing speed.

In case of difficulties, ensure you are logged into the correct user account and try turning your phone’s Wi-Fi off and back on again.

If the booklets you’ve been using are no longer visible in your library:

- Make sure you’re logged into the correct user account.

- Confirm that you’re currently viewing the right household. If you have multiple households, try switching to another one to find your missing booklets.

Each booklet can contain multiple story variants, allowing you to choose the narration style that suits you best:

- Cali’s original audio: Professionally recorded by a voice actor.

- Your shared recordings: Any recordings that you or your loved ones have created and shared on the infinibook app.

- Custom recording mode: Lets you make recordings directly on the infinibook.

To switch between the story variants, simply long-press (3 sec) Play all button under the title on the first page:

Each infinibook booklet offers multiple games inspired by the story, its characters, and the environment. These games allow your child to learn and have fun at the same time.

How to play:

1. Open the game page and press START.

2. Listen to the question carefully.

3. Use the arrows or numbers to select your answer.

If you answer incorrectly, don’t worry—you can always try again!

Pro tip: If you want to listen to a question again press START.

Bedtime Mode is a hands-free, low-stimulation setting designed to help you fall asleep. The reader stays closed while it plays a selected story with soft, calming lights. Simplified controls keep distractions at bedtime to a minimum.

Enter Bedtime Mode

To start, simply:

1. Place a booklet inside and close the infinibook.

2. Firmly press the booklet picture in the Portal to activate Bedtime Mode and start the story.

If you are pressing a button and getting no response, the most common causes are:

- Game not started: If you’re pressing game-related buttons (such as arrows or numbers), make sure you have first pressed START to begin the game.

- Improper booklet placement: Ensure the booklet is aligned within the gold frame inside your infinibook.

- Uneven surface: The infinibook and booklet work best when placed on a hard, flat surface. If the booklet is not lying flat, adjust it and try again.

- Low battery: Check the battery level and charge if necessary.

The infinibook has a battery life of 10+ hours of uninterrupted reading and playtime. With daily sessions of an hour or less, the battery can last for weeks on end. Here is everything you need to know about the battery levels and charging:

Checking battery level

On infinibook: Close the infinibook and observe the Portal on its cover. After the closing animation, the battery level will show:

- Green full circle: the battery is fully charged.

- Yellow depleting circle: Battery level is partially depleted.

- Red depleted circle: Battery is low and should be charged.

In infinibook app: Connect to your infinibook. In the Readers tab, you will see a small battery icon displaying the exact battery level.

Tip: To conserve battery, disconnect the infinibook from the app when not in use, as the battery continues to deplete while connected. To do so, simply close the infinibook app.

Charging your infinibook

Charge your infinibook by connecting it to a USB-C charger. While charging, the Portal will show the current battery level. Once it turns green and shows a full circle, your infinibook is fully charged.

If your new booklet is not recognized by the infinibook right away, it may need to be added to your library and synced before you can play it.

If the Portal on your infinibook remains on even when the reader is closed, see the following:

- Flickering violet-blue colors indicate the reader is connected to the infinibook app. Even if the app is running in the background, the reader will stay connected. To disconnect, simply close the app.

- Pulsating green, yellow or red color means the reader is charging. The color and the fullness of the circle indicate the current battery level.

- A full green circle indicates the reader is fully charged. Disconnect the charging cable.

If for any reason you need to reset your infinibook, you can do so using the “kill switch” at the bottom of the device.

How to reset:

1. Locate the “kill switch”:

To the left of the volume button, lift the small lid and find a small hole.

2. Press the kill switch with a reset tool:

Insert a reset needle or pin gently into the hole to press the “kill switch”. Doing this will cause your infinibook to become unresponsive.

3. Reconnect power:

After the reset, connect your infinibook to a USBC charger to power it back on.

Note: There is no need to worry - your content remains safe. Resetting your infinibook will not delete your recordings or library.

A Household is a virtual community of people who can interact with your infinibook and share their recordings.

A Household can be as large as you’d like—feel free to invite family and friends! The more members you include, the more unique narrations your child can enjoy.

To ensure privacy of your recordings, each infinibook reader can belong to only one Household. When you first connect to a reader, it will be tied to the active Household.

Household reader

Tying a reader to your Household ensures there are no limitations in its management. You can freely set the reader’s name, child’s age and sync the content with the app.

If you wish to remove the reader from your Household, simply open it in the Readers tab and tap Remove.

Local reader

If you are trying to connect to a reader registered in a Household in which you are not an Admin, this reader will be recognized under a name Local reader. While it is still possible to connect to this reader and download content to it, other permissions are limited.

To gain full access to the reader, ask its Household Admin to:

- Invite you to their Household and set your role to Admin,

- Remove the reader from their Household in the Readers tab.

To access your Household and edit its details:

- Open the Settings tab by tapping the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

- Select Households to view and edit your household details.

To switch between Households:

- While viewing a Household, tap the icon in the top-right corner.

- A list of available Households will appear.

To create a household:

1. Go to the Settings by tapping the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select Households.

2. Simply tap invite new members to generate and send them a link invitation.

To join a Household:

1. Download the infinibook app and create an account.

2. Ask a Household administrator to invite you to their Household by sending you a generated link invitation.

3. Follow the link and tap Join household.

Your Household can be as big as you want. Its members can have one of the following roles:

Admin: Manages readers, recordings and household members.

Contributor: Creates and shares recordings with the Admins.

To manage Household members, access your Household and:

Add new members

1. Tap Invite new member to add members to your Household.

2. Input their name or family role and tap Generate link.

3. Copy or directly share the link with them.

4. All they have to do is create their own account on the infinibook app and follow the link to join your household.

Change roles

Tap on a member and change their household role in the drop-down menu.

Remove members

Tap on a member and select Remove member from household.

You can easily record your narration using the Infinibook app by following these steps:

Enter the recording mode

1. In the Books tab, select the story you want to narrate.

2. Tap Record narration to enter the recording mode. Here, you will see each story page ready for recording.

- Tip 1: To increase the text size, tap the T icon in the top-right corner and adjust the size on the slider.

- Tip 2: Tap the book icon in the top-right corner to display the page’s illustration for inspiration.

Make recordings

1. On the selected story page, tap the Microphone icon to record.

2. Once done, press Play to listen to your new recording or tap Replace to try again.

5. When you are happy with the recording for the selected page, tap Next and repeat the process for each page.

Finish recording

1. Once all pages are recorded, the Finish button will appear on the last page.

2. Tap Finish and a congratulations message will pop-up.

3. When ready, sync with your infinibook to download the recording to your reader.

Note: Recordings made directly on your infinibook are stored locally and are not backed up on our servers. For secure, backed-up recordings, use the infinibook app.

How to record:

1. Place a booklet into your infinibook and enter the Custom Recording mode by holding the Play all button for 3 seconds.

2. Open the story page you want to record onto and long-press the story button for 3 seconds. Don't get discouraged if audio starts playing, simply keep holding the story button.

3. Follow the spoken directions and start speaking when prompted.

4. Press the story button again to stop recording.

5. Press the story button to listen to your recording. If you would like to overwrite the recording, go back to step 2, and follow the instructions.

Anyone, anywhere can create a recording of a story and share it with you. Here’s how they can do it:

1. Download the infinibook app and create an account.

2. In the Books tab, open the story to record. The story can be found in either their Library or Recommended section.

3. Once in the story, enter the recording mode by selecting Record narration.

4. Record the story using the infinibook app.

- For detailed instructions on recording, refer to the corresponding help page.

5. After a recording is created for every story page, tap Finish and Share it:

- directly with the Household (if they are a member),

- by sending you a link to the recording.

Once the recording is shared with the Household or you follow the link, open the app where you will receive an in-app notification the recording was received. Simply sync with your reader to enjoy the narration created by your loved ones.

You do not have to worry about backing your recordings created on the infinibook app, we will do it for you and safely store them on our servers.

Custom recordings created on your infinibook are stored locally, and are currently not backed up on our servers. For secure, backed-up recordings, use the infinibook app.

If the recordings you’ve created on the infinibook app are no longer visible:

- Make sure you’re logged into the correct user account.

- Confirm that you’re currently viewing the right household. If you have multiple households, try switching to another one to locate your missing recordings.

Note: There is no need to worry - recordings made through the app are securely stored on our servers. If you are still unable to restore them, please contact our support team and we will make sure you get them back.
