Welcome to www.calisbooks.com (the “Site”), which is owned by Cali’s Books LLC (“Cali’s Books”, “we”, “us” and “our”) and operated from the United States. This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person or to identify an individual in context. We reserve the right to confirm your California residence to process your requests and will need to confirm your identity to process your requests to exercise your information, access, or deletion rights. As part of this process, government identification may be required. Consistent with California law, you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. In order to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must provide a valid power of attorney, the requester’s valid government-issued identification, and the authorized agent’s valid government-issued identification. We cannot process your request if you do not provide us with sufficient detail to allow us to understand and respond to it.
  • Request a list of third-party marketers. California’s “Shine the Light” law (California Civil Code § 1798.83) allows California residents to ask companies with whom they have formed a business relationship primarily for personal, family, or household purposes to provide certain information about the companies’ sharing of certain personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding year (if any). The request must include your current name, street address, city, state, and zip code and attest to the fact that you are a California resident.
  • We cannot process your request if you do not provide us with sufficient detail to allow us to understand and respond to it.
EUROPEAN RESIDENTS

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example, if you make an order through the Site) or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. DATA RETENTION

We will retain your information for as long as needed to provide you the Site services for our valid business purposes and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, defend our legal rights, and enforce our agreements.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users' personal identification information to others in accordance with the CCPA. MOBILE TERMS OF SERVICE

The Cali's Books mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by Cali's Books (“Cali's Books,” “we”, or “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

By consenting to Cali's Books’s SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Cali's Books through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, specials, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).

You understand that you do not have to sign up for this program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Cali's Books. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary.

We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.

You may opt out of the Service at any time. Text the single keyword command STOP to +18664102063 or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You'll receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to other Cali's Books mobile message programs and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you will need to opt-out separately from those programs by following the instructions provided in their respective mobile terms.

We may change any shortcode or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program with your new number.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.

VOICE RECORDING FOR BOOKS

  • You have obtained all necessary permissions and consents required to record and store voices, including any permissions required from individuals whose voices are recorded.

DELETING PERSONAL DATA

Users can delete their personal data directly through the Settings interface of Infinibook. The "Delete account" button is accessible in the "My profile" tab under Settings. Upon confirming their decision to proceed, account deletion occurs immediately, and all associated data is permanently removed. Please note that deleted account data cannot be recovered.

If a user logs in using an email address or phone number that was previously associated with a deleted account, they will re-enter the app as a new user. This means any previous readers, households, or books set up will not be retained.
